Alright, let’s talk about these risk type strategy games. You know, the ones where you gotta think a bit, not just shoot everything that moves. My grandkids, they love these things. Always clickin’ and tappin’ on their phones and computers.

So, what are they, these games? Well, they ain’t like checkers, that’s for sure. You gotta plan stuff. Like, if you move your little army men here, what’s gonna happen over there? It’s all about thinkin’ ahead, see? Like plannin’ where to plant your corn so the rabbits don’t eat it all.

One game they play a lot is called “Risk.” Now, this one’s got cards. Not like poker cards, mind you, but cards that do different things. You gotta get these cards, see? Every turn you get one. And then you gotta figure out when to use ’em. Sometimes you hold onto ’em, sometimes you play ’em right away. It’s all about timing, just like bakin’ a good pie. Gotta know when it’s just right to take it out of the oven.

• Get them cards: That’s the first thing. Every turn, grab a card. Don’t leave ’em layin’ around.
• Play ’em smart: Don’t just throw ’em away. Think about what they do and when the best time is to use ’em.
• Mess with the other folks: If you can stop them from gettin’ cards, do it. Makes it harder for them to win, see?
• Knock ’em out: If you can get rid of a player, do it. You get all their cards then. That’s a big help.

Some other games are like “Risk” but a little different. Like there’s one called “Warzone.” My grandson, little Timmy, he’s always yellin’ about conquerin’ the world in that game. Sounds like a lot of work to me. I’d rather just keep my garden tidy.

Then there’s these games like “Sekigahara” and “Axis & Allies.” Now, these are the fancy ones, with lots of rules and stuff. They’re all about war and takin’ over places. Too complicated for me, if you ask me. I like things simple. Like plantin’ seeds and watchin’ ’em grow.

And there’s even a game called “Risk Legacy.” They say it’s like the original Risk but with some changes. Kind of like makin’ a stew. You start with the same basic recipe but add different things each time to spice it up.

These games, they ain’t just for kids, you know. Grown-ups play ’em too. I guess it’s ’cause they like to think and plan and strategize. Kinda like figurin’ out how to stretch a dollar ’til payday. That’s a strategy game right there, ain’t it?

Strategy games, they make you use your brain. Not like those shootin’ games where you just point and click. You gotta think ahead, plan your moves, and figure out what the other folks are gonna do. It’s like a chess game, but sometimes with more armies and territories and cannons and such. And all of them shiny, brightly colored, reminds me of those fancy Christmas lights the city folks put up.

These games, they available on all sorts of things now. Computers, phones, even those tablet things. So you can play ’em anywhere, anytime. Though I still prefer a good book and a cup of tea myself, you know. Less screen time, better for the eyes.
