Alright, let’s yak about this Roblox Yas City thing, whatever that is. My grandkids, they’re always yappin’ about it. Sounds like some kinda game, you know? Like them things they play on their fancy phones and computers.

So, this Yas City, it’s on somethin’ called “Roblox.” Now, I ain’t no spring chicken, so this Roblox stuff is new to me. Sounds like a big ol’ playground, but for your fingers, not your feet. You go in there, and you can do all sorts of things. Build stuff, they say. Like houses, or maybe even whole darn cities! Imagine that, buildin’ a whole city with just your thumbs! Back in my day, we built things with our hands, sweat, and tears, not no fancy buttons.

This Yas City, it’s supposed to be like a real place, somewhere far away. I heard tell it’s called Yas Island, in some place called Abu Dhabi. Never heard of it myself. Must be one of them foreign lands. But in this Roblox thing, you get to build it yourself. Sounds like a lot of work, if you ask me. But these kids, they love it. They spend hours tappin’ away on them screens, buildin’ their little cities.

• They say you can build all sorts of things there.
• Big buildin’s, like them fancy hotels and such.
• And rides, like them rollercoasters that make your stomach jump up your throat.

I seen ‘em playin’ it once. Little squares and blocks, all clickin’ together. Reminds me of them buildin’ blocks they had when they were little, only now it’s all on the screen. And it ain’t cheap, neither. Well, not the game itself, they say it’s free. But them kids, they’re always wantin’ this and that for their games. Special blocks, fancy cars, who knows what else. Always beggin’ for money, them little rascals.

But what is this Yas Island anyway? I heard it’s a real place, a place where rich folks go to have fun, I reckon. They got beaches there, and them big fancy hotels. And them theme parks! Like that place with the fast cars, Ferrari somethin’ or other. And another one with all them cartoon characters. Sounds like a real circus, if you ask me. But in this Roblox game, you get to build your own version of it. Your own little circus, I guess.

Now, this Roblox thing, it’s been around for a while, they say. Started way back in 2004, by some fellas named David and Erik. California fellas, I bet. Always comin’ up with these newfangled things. And now, millions of folks play it, all over the world. Even old folks like me are hearin’ about it, even if we don’t understand it one bit. It’s like a whole ‘nother world, this Roblox. A world made of squares and blocks, where you can be anything you want, build anything you want.

You don’t need no tickets to get into this Roblox Yas City, unlike the real place. They say goin’ to that real Yas Island, well, that costs a pretty penny. You gotta buy tickets for everything, them rides, them shows, everything. But in Roblox, it’s all free, well, mostly free, until them grandkids start pesterin’ ya for more Robux or whatever they call it. This Yas Island in the game, they tell me it’s named after some tribe, the Bani Yas Tribe. Sounds like somethin’ outta them history books my grandson reads.

So, that’s the lowdown on this Roblox Yas City, as best as I can figure it. It’s a game, a place to build, a place to play, a place to spend all your time and money, if you ain’t careful. Kids these days, they got it easy. Buildin’ cities with their thumbs, while I’m out here sweatin’ in the garden. But hey, if it keeps ‘em quiet for a while, I ain’t complainin’. Just don’t ask me to play it. I’d rather stick to my crossword puzzles and my gardenin’ tools.

But from what I gather, it’s like havin’ a whole bunch of LEGOs but without the mess of steppin’ on them in the middle of the night. You get to use your brain, thinkin’ about where to put what, makin’ it all look pretty. And if you don’t like it, you just knock it down and start all over again. Wish life was like that sometimes, huh? Just knock down all your mistakes and start fresh.

Anyways, that’s my two cents on this Roblox Yas City. If you got grandkids, you probably already know all about it. If not, well, now you know a little somethin’. It’s a game, a city, a whole ‘nother world, all wrapped up in a little screen. And if you ask me, it’s a darn sight easier than buildin’ a real city. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go water my petunias.
