best mac strategy games

Well, howdy there, y’all! Let’s yak about them best strategy games you can get on your Mac, you know, them fancy computin’ machines. Folks always askin’ me, “What’s good to play?”, so I figured, why not spill the beans?

Now, I ain’t no spring chicken, and I sure ain’t played every game under the sun. But I’ve seen a fair share, and I know what’s what when it comes to gettin’ your brain workin’. First off, lemme tell ya, strategy games ain’t like them shoot-em-ups. You gotta think, plan, and strategize, like plantin’ corn in the right field at the right time.

One game everyone and their grandma seems to love is that StarCraft 2. Heard it’s got a scorin’ of 93 somethin’ or other. Don’t rightly know what that means, but folks say it’s good. It’s all about them space battles and buildin’ armies. Reminds me a bit of wranglin’ chickens, gotta keep ’em all in line and headin’ the same way.

  • Keeps you thinkin’
  • Lots of units to manage
  • Good for folks who like plannin’ ahead

Then there’s Mount & Blade: Warband. Now this one, this one’s got them medieval times, you know, knights and swords and such. You get to be a big shot, leadin’ your men into battle, or maybe just tradin’ goods from town to town. It’s like bein’ a farmer, but instead of crops, you’re dealin’ with grumpy soldiers. Good for folks who like a bit of role-playin’ with their strategy.

Alien: Isolation – The Collection ain’t exactly a strategy game like the others, but it’s got you thinkin’ on your feet, that’s for sure. It’s scary as heck, with that alien critter lurkin’ around every corner. You gotta be smart, use your resources wisely, and stay outta sight. Kind of like hidin’ from the tax collector, only scarier.

And of course, can’t forget about Civilization V. This here game is all about buildin’ a whole dang civilization from scratch. You start with nothin’ but a little settlement, and you gotta grow it into a mighty empire. Reminds me of plantin’ a little seed and watchin’ it grow into a big ol’ tree. You gotta manage resources, build cities, and deal with other civilizations. Lots of thinkin’ involved.

If you’re lookin’ for somethin’ in outer space, there’s plenty of them space strategy games, too. You get to build your own fleet of spaceships, control your army across the galaxy, and conquer other planets. Lots of choices for a smart fella or gal to choose from. Heck, they even got them games where you gotta plan out your every move, defendin’ your base from all kinds of critters and enemies. It’s like protectin’ your henhouse from them sneaky foxes, only on a much bigger scale.

Now, I ain’t sayin’ these are the only good games out there. There’s a whole heap of ’em, more than you can shake a stick at. But these are a good startin’ point, specially if you’re new to this whole strategy game thing. Just remember, these games ain’t for the faint of heart. You gotta be patient, you gotta be persistent, and you gotta be willin’ to use your brain. And if you do all that, well, you’re gonna have a darn good time.

So, go on, give ’em a try. You might just surprise yourself with how much you enjoy thinkin’ hard and strategizin’. And who knows, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two. Just like learnin’ how to make a good apple pie, it takes time and practice, but the end result is always worth it. And that’s all I gotta say about that.
