west coast game park safari reviews
Well, let me tell ya ’bout this place, this “West Coast Game Park Safari” they call it. I went there with my grandkids, ya know, the little rascals. Thought it’d be somethin’ fun for ’em, somethin’ different than starin’ at them darn phones all day.
First off, it ain’t no real “safari” like you see on TV, with them fancy jeeps and all. This here’s more like a walk-through zoo, but a good one, mind you. They got all sorts of critters, lions, tigers, even them snow leopards you hear about. My grandkids, they was just wide-eyed lookin’ at them big cats. Said they never seen anythin’ like it, and I reckon they ain’t, not around here anyways.
- Lots of animals, they say over 450 of ’em.
- And about 75 different kinds, or “species” as the city folks say.
- They even let ya feed some of the animals, which the kids just loved.
Now, the place ain’t huge, ’bout 21 acres they say. But they pack a lot into that space. The animals ain’t all cooped up in tiny cages neither. They got room to roam around, which is nice to see. It’s the people that’s walkin’ in the cages, kinda funny when you think about it. You’re the one behind the fence lookin’ at them, not the other way around.
The park’s right there on the coast, in Bandon, Oregon. Easy to find, right off that big highway, US-101. Can’t miss it. Plenty of parkin’ too, which is good, ’cause I hate circlin’ around lookin’ for a spot.
My grandkids, they was real excited to see the baby animals. They had some little tiger cubs, real playful they was. And they got these lemurs, jumpin’ all over the place. The kids thought they was hilarious. Me, I was more impressed with them big cats. Magnificent creatures, they are. Just sittin’ there, lookin’ all powerful.

One thing I liked is that you can get right up close to some of the animals. Not too close, mind you, they still got fences and such. But you can see ’em real good. And like I said, they let ya feed some of ’em. That was a real treat for the grandkids. They got these little food cups you can buy, and the animals come right up to ya and take it from your hand. The kids was gigglin’ and squealin’, havin’ a grand ol’ time.
Now, I ain’t gonna lie, it ain’t cheap. But I reckon it’s worth it for a day out with the family. You get to see a lot of animals, and the kids have a blast. And it’s somethin’ different, ya know? Not like goin’ to the movies or the mall. This is somethin’ they’ll remember.
Some folks complain that it ain’t a real “safari”. Well, what do they expect? We ain’t in Africa, ya know. For what it is, it’s a good place. The animals seem well cared for, the place is clean, and the people are friendly. That’s all that matters to me.
Overall, I’d say it’s a good place to take the family. The kids will love it, and you’ll probably enjoy it too. Just don’t go expectin’ no African safari, and you’ll be fine. It’s a fun day out, and that’s what counts.
So, if you’re ever down in Bandon, Oregon, and you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do, go check out this West Coast Game Park Safari. It ain’t perfect, but it’s a good time. And that’s more than you can say for a lot of places these days.
They got a website too, I hear. You can book tickets online and all that fancy stuff. But me, I just showed up and bought ’em at the gate. Old fashioned, I guess. But it worked just fine.
So yeah, go on and give it a try. Your kids will thank ya for it. And you might even have some fun yourself. Just watch out for them tigers, they look hungry!
