Alright, alright, let me tell you about this book, “the inheritance games reviews”, or whatever they call it. I ain’t no fancy book reader, you know, but my granddaughter, she told me all about it. Said it was a real page-turner, like them soap operas I watch, but with more puzzles and less cryin’… mostly.

So, this story, it’s about this girl, Avery. Just a regular gal, nothin’ special, or so she thought. Then BAM! Outta nowhere, this rich old dude she never even met, leaves her his whole dang fortune. Can you believe that? Millions and millions! Enough to buy all the chickens in the county, I reckon.

But here’s the kicker, see? This old dude, he’s got a whole family, a big one, with grandsons and all. And they ain’t too happy about Avery gettin’ all the money. They’re all suspicious, you know, thinkin’ she tricked the old man or somethin’. So, that’s where the mystery starts. Lots of secrets and puzzles, just like my grandma’s old quilt patterns, but way harder to figure out.

• First off, there’s this money, a whole heap of it.
• Then, there’s this family, all tangled up like yarn.
• And don’t forget the puzzles, riddles and stuff, makes your head spin.

My granddaughter, she kept talkin’ about the “Hawthornes.” That’s the family, I guess. Said they’re all good-lookin’ and smart, but a little bit… off. You know, the kind of folks who smile at you but you just know they’re plottin’ somethin’ behind your back. They love games, see? And this whole inheritance thing, it’s just the biggest game of all.

Now, there’s some romance in it too, my granddaughter says. Not too much, mind you, just a few kisses here and there. She said somethin’ about five or six kiss scenes in the whole thing. And some of the girls, they like girls, if you catch my drift. Not that it matters much, love is love, I always say, even if it’s between two hens in the coop.

There’s some danger too, wouldn’t you know it? Someone tries to kill Avery, can you imagine? Just goes to show, money ain’t everything. And there’s this one girl, she’s stuck in a bad relationship, poor thing. Reminds me of that ol’ henpecked rooster down the road.

The book, it ain’t all sunshine and roses, though. There’s some sad parts, my granddaughter says she cried a bit. But mostly, it’s exciting, keeps you guessin’ till the very end. Like when you’re waitin’ for the eggs to hatch, you just don’t know what’s gonna come out.

She also mentioned somethin’ about it bein’ a “young adult” book. I guess that means it’s for young folks, but heck, I enjoyed hearin’ about it. And there ain’t too much bad stuff in it, just a little bit of violence, but nothin’ like them shoot-’em-up movies the menfolk watch. No “spice,” as the youngsters say, whatever that means.

So, if you’re lookin’ for a good story, somethin’ to keep you entertained, this “inheritance games” thing might be just the ticket. It’s got mystery, puzzles, a bit of romance, and a whole lotta family drama. Just like real life, I reckon, but with more money and fancier clothes.

And let me tell you somethin’ else. My granddaughter, she says there’s more books, a whole series of ’em. Seems like this Avery girl just can’t catch a break, always gettin’ mixed up in some new mess. But that’s what makes it fun, right? Just like watchin’ them squirrels in the yard, always up to somethin’.

This “inheritance game” is all about winnin’, that’s what the Hawthornes like, and my granddaughter says if you gotta read any book series, it’s gotta be this one. Full of suspense and tears just like somethin’ you see in the movies, it’s a good read in her eyes and that’s all that matters to me.

Anyway, that’s all I got to say about it. I ain’t no book reviewer, just a plain old woman who likes a good story. And from what I hear, this one’s a doozy.
