turn based strategy games ps5
[Body]
Alright, let’s gab about these here turn-based strategy games on that fancy PlayStation 5 thingamajig. My grandkids keep yappin’ about it, so I figured, why not see what the fuss is all about? I ain’t no gamer, mind you, but I can tell ya a thing or two about plannin’ and strategizin’. Been doin’ it all my life, from plantin’ crops to gettin’ the best deals at the market.
So, first off, they got this Tactics Ogre: Reborn. Sounds fancy, huh? From what I gather, it’s one of them games where you gotta think real hard before you make a move. Like chess, but with more… spells and stuff. You move your little fellas around on a grid, tryin’ to outsmart the other team. Reminds me of tryin’ to catch chickens – gotta corner ’em just right!
Then there’s this Baldur’s Gate 3. Now, that one’s a mouthful. Heard it’s a real big deal, a “masterclass,” they say. Lots of talkin’ and decidin’, just like when the whole family tries to agree on what to eat for Sunday dinner. You gotta choose who to side with, what to say, and, of course, how to fight. And the fightin’, it’s that turn-by-turn kind, where you gotta figure out who hits who first and how hard. Sounds complicated, but I reckon I could get the hang of it.
- Turn-based fightin’, they call it. You take your turn, then the other fella takes his. No rushin’ around like a headless chicken, which is good for my old bones.
- Lots of characters, too, all with their own stories and whatnot. Reminds me of the folks at the town square, always gossipin’ and stirrin’ up trouble.
- And the world, it’s big and open. You can go wherever you want, just like when I used to wander through the fields as a young’un.
Another one they keep talkin’ about is Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Now, I know about Marvel, seen them superhero movies with the grandkids. This one’s got them superheroes, but it ain’t just about punchin’ and flyin’. You gotta use your brain, too. It’s like, you got a hand of cards, and each card lets you do somethin’ different. You gotta play them cards right to beat the bad guys. Sounds like a game of poker, but with more… explosions.

They say it’s a “tactical RPG.” Don’t know what all them letters mean, but I get the gist of it. You gotta be smart, gotta think ahead. Gotta plan your moves like you’re plannin’ a whole week’s worth of meals. And you gotta work with your team, just like how we used to work together durin’ harvest season. Everybody had their job, and we all had to do it right if we wanted to bring in the crops.
PlayStation 5 Pro, they call it, this new one comin’ out. They say it’ll make these games look even prettier. Like lookin’ at a prize-winning pumpkin, I guess. And it’ll make ’em run smoother, too. No more laggin’ or glitchin’, whatever that means. Just pure, smooth strategizin’. Makes me wonder if they can make a game about farmin’ someday. Now, *that* would be a strategy game I could really get into.
So yeah, these turn-based strategy games, they ain’t so bad. They make you think, they make you plan, and they make you feel like you’re actually accomplishin’ somethin’. Kinda like bakin’ a perfect pie, or fixin’ a leaky faucet. It’s all about takin’ your time, figurin’ things out, and makin’ the right moves at the right time. And that’s somethin’ this old lady knows a thing or two about.
And from what I hear, there’s a whole heap of these games on the PlayStation 5. They got all sorts of themes and stories. Some are about fantasy, some are about sci-fi, some are even about history. There’s somethin’ for everyone, I reckon. So, if you’re lookin’ for a game that’ll make you use your brain, somethin’ that ain’t just about shootin’ and runnin’ around, then these turn-based strategy games might be just the ticket.
Deep and engaging is what they call it. And I guess that’s right. You get sucked into the world, into the story, and you really start to care about what’s happenin’. You start rootin’ for your characters, you start gettin’ frustrated when things go wrong, and you start feelin’ a real sense of satisfaction when you finally win. Just like when you’re tending a garden, you put in the work, you face the challenges, and in the end, you reap the rewards.
So, whether you’re a young whippersnapper or an old-timer like me, there’s probably a turn-based strategy game out there that you’ll enjoy. Just remember to take your time, think things through, and don’t be afraid to try somethin’ new. And who knows, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two about plannin’ and strategizin’ along the way.
