long island game farm reviews
Alright, so you wanna know about that Long Island Game Farm, huh? Well, let me tell ya, I went there with my grandkids last summer, and I got a thing or two to say. Don’t expect no fancy words from me, I’m just gonna tell it like it is.
First off, the place is packed, I mean PACKED, like sardines in a can. Kids are screamin’, parents are yellin’, it’s a whole lotta noise. If you’re lookin’ for a quiet day out, forget about it. This ain’t no peaceful picnic spot, that’s for sure.
Now, about them animals. Yeah, they got a bunch. Giraffes, monkeys, those weird lookin’ emus… the kids seemed to like ’em. But honestly, some of them cages looked kinda small to me. Made me feel a bit bad for the critters, you know? They got these feeding things you can do, give the animals some snacks. That was alright, I guess. Kids got a kick out of it, but it costs ya extra, naturally.
- They got pony rides, but the line was longer than a country mile. We waited and waited, and my grandson, little Mikey, he started fussin’. Ended up skippin’ it altogether.
- They also got these zookeeper talks, but honestly, I couldn’t hear half of what the lady was sayin’. Too many people jabberin’ and kids runnin’ around.
- The place is kinda run-down in spots, too. Could use a fresh coat of paint here and there. And the bathrooms? Well, let’s just say they weren’t the cleanest I’ve ever seen. You know how it is with these places, they get so busy, things get messy.
Now, the money part. It ain’t cheap, I’ll tell ya that. Tickets cost a pretty penny, and then they nickel and dime you for everything else. Food, drinks, those animal feedings…it all adds up. I spent near a hundred bucks and didn’t even get a decent cup of coffee. For what you get, I ain’t sure it’s worth the price. You could probably find somethin’ better to do with your money, somethin’ that ain’t so crowded and noisy.
My grandkids, they had a decent time, I guess. They liked seein’ the animals, even if they didn’t get to ride the ponies. But me? I was wore out by the end of the day. My feet hurt, my head was spinnin’, and my wallet was empty. If you’re thinkin’ of goin’, just be prepared. It ain’t no walk in the park, that’s for sure. It’s more like a stampede through a barnyard.

But look, Long Island farms are a big deal, they sayin’ they made a whole lotta money last year, sellin’ stuff to folks. This game farm is part of that, I guess. Maybe they’re doin’ alright, makin’ all that money, but I still think they could do better. Treat them animals a bit nicer, clean the place up a bit, and maybe lower them prices. Then maybe I’d go back. Maybe.
So, that’s my two cents. Take it or leave it. It ain’t fancy, but it’s the truth. If you got kids, they might enjoy it. But if you’re lookin’ for a peaceful day out, go find yourself a nice park bench somewhere. You’ll thank me later. Just sayin’, you work hard for your money, spend it wisely.
Oh, and one more thing. Bring your own snacks and drinks. You’ll save yourself a bundle. And wear comfortable shoes, you’ll be doin’ a lot of walkin’. And maybe some earplugs, if you can’t stand the noise. Alright, I’m done talkin’. Go enjoy your day, wherever you end up goin’.
