Alright, so you kids are talkin’ ’bout this “Genshin Impact” thing on Tumblr, huh? I ain’t got no clue what a “Tumblr” is, sounds like some fancy city thing. But this “Genshin” thing, my grandkids keep blabberin’ about it. So, lemme tell ya what I’ve picked up from them noisy brats, ya know, in my own words.

First off, this Genshin Impact, it’s like a…a game, yeah. A game where you run around doin’ stuff. My grandson, little Timmy, he’s always yellin’ ’bout “Teyvat.” Says it’s this big, huge world. Bigger than our whole county, I reckon! And in this Teyvat, there’s all sorts of powers. Like, fire and wind and water and stuff. Like those fancy weather wizards on TV, but way more exciting, Timmy says.

You got these “Travelers,” that’s what you play as, I think. They go around fightin’ things and lookin’ for their lost sibling. Sounds like a whole lotta trouble to me. Why can’t they just stay home and help with the chores? But no, they gotta be gallivantin’ across this Teyvat, fightin’ monsters and whatnot.

• Teyvat is a big place, like I said. Full of different places, like mountains and cities and forests. Timmy showed me pictures once, pretty colorful stuff, I gotta admit.
• Then there’s these “elements.” Fire, water, wind, lightning… sounds dangerous to me. But these Travelers, they use them to fight. My granddaughter, little Susie, she always talks about “combos” and “reactions.” Sounds like cookin’ to me, but with magic instead of flour and eggs.
• And the characters! Oh, there’s a whole bunch of ’em. Pretty girls, tough guys, even some little kids runnin’ around with swords. Timmy says you gotta collect ’em, like those dang Pokémon cards he used to spend all his allowance on. Each one has their own special power, you know, like how old Mrs. Henderson makes the best apple pie in the whole town, everyone got somethin’ special.

Now, from what I hear, Tumblr is where you folks share all your Genshin stuff. Pictures, stories, whatever you call ’em – “fanart” and “fanfiction,” Susie told me. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss over a game, but hey, what do I know? I’m just an old lady who prefers sittin’ on the porch with a glass of sweet tea.

Folks on Tumblr, they post about everything, apparently. Like this “Natlan” place. Susie says it’s gonna be the next big thing in the game, a land of fire and war. Sounds scary! Then there’s this “Genius Invokation TCG” thing, some kinda card game inside the game. Like playin’ cards while you’re playin’ a game. Kids these days, they got too much time on their hands, I tell ya. You can find some folks reposting official art and pictures, so that everyone can see it. If you don’t see it right away in the game, you can see it from them.

And the pictures! Susie showed me some, and they’re real pretty. Folks drawin’ their favorite characters, makin’ up stories ’bout them. Some even make those moving picture things, what do they call ’em… “GIFs”? All this fancy technology, it makes my head spin. But hey, if it makes the kids happy, I guess it ain’t so bad.
