good co op strategy games

Well now, let me tell ya somethin’ about these here “good co-op strategy games.” Folks always talkin’ ’bout ’em, and I reckon I’ve seen a fair share, even if I don’t rightly understand all the fancy names and such.

Now, some of these games, they got you buildin’ stuff. Like, you and your friends, y’all gotta work together to make a whole dang city or somethin’. I heard tell of one called “Satisfactory”. Sounds like hard work, but folks seem to like it. Then there’s “Factorio,” same kinda thing, but with more machines and contraptions. My grandson, he plays that one, always talkin’ ’bout belts and assemblers and whatnot. Confusin’ as all get-out, but he seems to have a good time.

And then there’s them survival games. Oh boy, those can be tough. You’re thrown out into the wilderness, and you gotta scrounge for everything. “Green Hell,” they call one of ’em. Sounds about right, from what I hear. Bugs and snakes and all sorts of nasty critters. And then there’s “Valheim,” with all them Vikings and whatnot. My niece, she plays that one. Says it’s fun to build longhouses and fight monsters. I don’t know, sounds dangerous to me.

  • One time, I seen her playin’ “Don’t Starve Together.” Now that one’s a real head-scratcher. Little stick figures runnin’ around, tryin’ not to die of hunger or somethin’. She was yellin’ at the screen, somethin’ ’bout spiders and tentacles. Kids these days, I tell ya.
  • And then there’s “Terraria,” and “Raft,” where you’re buildin’ stuff too, but it’s more about explorin’ and tryin’ not to get eaten by sharks or somethin’. Always somethin’ tryin’ to get ya in these games, seems like.
  • Oh, and that “Scrap Mechanic,” another one with buildin’. My nephew loves that one. He’s always buildin’ crazy contraptions, cars and such, and then drivin’ ‘em around and crashin’ ‘em. Boys will be boys, I guess.

But it ain’t all just buildin’ and survivin’. Some of these games, they got you thinkin’. Like, real hard thinkin’. “Stellaris,” they call one. Somethin’ about space and empires and whatnot. Way too complicated for me, but some folks seem to like it. And then there’s “Tropico,” where you’re a dictator of some island. My neighbor’s boy, he likes that one. Always talkin’ about building fancy resorts and keepin’ his people happy… or not so happy, depends on how he’s feelin’ that day I guess.

Now, some of these games, they’re what they call “real-time strategy.” That means you gotta be quick, thinkin’ on your feet. Like “Crusader Kings III”. Folks say you gotta manage your family and kingdom and all that. Sounds like a headache to me. Then there’s “Offworld Trading Company,” where you’re tryin’ to make money on Mars or somethin’. And “XCOM 2,” where you’re fightin’ aliens. That one’s got my grandson all excited. He’s always talkin’ about tactics and squads and whatnot.

Then there’s games like “Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak”. Big ol’ spaceships and tanks fightin’ in the desert. Looks kinda pretty, all them explosions and such. And “Total War: Warhammer II,” with all them fantasy creatures. Wizards and orcs and whatnot. My niece, she likes that one too. Always talkin’ ’bout her favorite faction and how she’s gonna conquer the world. And let’s not forget good ol’ “Civilization VI”, where you build your own civilization from the ground up. That one can take days, weeks even, from what I hear. Folks get real serious about it.

And of course, there’s “Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault” and “Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2”. War games, they are. Lots of shootin’ and blowin’ stuff up. My brother, he used to play them old war games. Said it was like bein’ a general or somethin’. I never understood it myself.

So yeah, there’s all sorts of these “good co-op strategy games” out there. Some are about buildin’, some are about survivin’, some are about thinkin’, and some are about fightin’. But they all got one thing in common: you gotta work together with your friends to win. And I reckon that’s a good thing. Teaches ya to cooperate and whatnot. Even if it does involve a whole lotta yellin’ at the screen sometimes.

Now, I don’t know about all the alliances and fancy strategies mentioned in that “Endless Space 2” thing, but seems like folks enjoy makin’ friends and workin’ together in these games, even if it’s just to boss each other around and tell ’em what to do!

Anyway, that’s about all I know about these “good co-op strategy games.” If you wanna know more, you’ll have to ask one of them young’uns. They know all the fancy terms and such. I’m just an old woman, I don’t know nothin’ about that stuff.
