best strategy games for switch
Alright, listen up, y’all. Gonna tell ya ’bout some games, the kind you gotta use your brain for, not just jump around like a headless chicken. These are what them fancy folks call “strategy” games, but don’t let that scare ya. It just means you gotta think a bit before you do somethin’, ya know?
So, you got this thing called a “Switch,” right? Little box, plays games. Well, it’s got some good ones for thinkin’ folks. Let me tell ya ’bout a few.
First off, there’s this Fire Emblem: Three Houses game. Released a while back, July 26th, I think. Now, this one’s got all sorts of people fightin’ and whatnot, but you gotta tell ’em where to go and who to hit. Kinda like directin’ a bunch of unruly kids, only with swords and magic instead of sticks and mud pies. You gotta plan ahead, see, or them other fellas gonna whup your behind good.
- You gotta pick a side, see, and each side’s got different folks with different skills.
- Then you gotta train ’em up, make ’em stronger.
- And when it’s time to fight, you gotta move ’em around the map like checkers, only way more complicated.
It ain’t easy, but it’s satisfying when you win, like gettin’ all the weeds out of your garden in one go. Makes you feel like you accomplished somethin’!
Then there’s this other one, XCOM 2. Now, this one’s a real doozy. Aliens and whatnot, comin’ to take over. You’re in charge of a bunch of soldiers, gotta fight ’em off. But it ain’t just shootin’ and runnin’. You gotta be smart, real smart.

Think of it like this: you’re plannin’ a big family dinner. You gotta figure out who sits where, who gets what food, and make sure nobody starts fightin’ before the pie is served. Same thing with XCOM 2, only instead of family, it’s soldiers, and instead of pie, it’s, well, blasting aliens.
You gotta think about cover, where your soldiers are standin’, what kinda weapons they got. One wrong move and, bam, your best guy’s gone. Just like that. It’s tough, but it keeps you on your toes. Like tryin’ to catch a greased pig at the county fair, that’s what it is.
Now, I heard tell of some other games too, ain’t played ’em myself, but folks say they’re good. Things like Crusader Kings III, where you’re bossin’ around a whole kingdom, and Civilization VI, where you’re buildin’ an empire from the ground up. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but some folks like that kinda thing. Me? I prefer somethin’ a little simpler, like makin’ sure the chickens don’t get into the garden.
And then there’s them sports games, like PES and FIFA. Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re thinkin’, “Them ain’t strategy games!” But hold on a minute. You gotta think about who’s playin’ where, what moves to make, how to outsmart the other team. It ain’t just kickin’ a ball around, ya know. It’s like plannin’ a hunt, gotta know where the prey is gonna be, how to corner it.
So, there ya have it. Some games for thinkin’ folks. Don’t matter if you’re young or old, man or woman, if you wanna use your brain a little, give these a try. Just don’t blame me if you get hooked. It’s like eatin’ potato chips, once you start, it’s hard to stop!
And one more thing, they say there’s a new Switch comin’ out, a “Switch 2” they call it. Don’t know when it’ll get here, them city folks keep changin’ their minds. But when it does, I bet there’ll be even more of these thinkin’ games to play. Gonna be busy, that’s for sure.
So go on, get yourself a Switch, find one of these games, and start thinkin’! It’s good for ya, like eatin’ your vegetables, only way more fun.
