20 multiplayer vr games crossplay toms hardware
Well now, lemme tell ya, these here VR games, they’re somethin’ else, ain’t they? Folks are all hoppin’ and jumpin’ around with them goggles on, lookin’ like they’re fightin’ off space aliens or somethin’. But what gets me is all these different contraptions they got. You got your PlayStations, and your… whatchamacallits… Oculus things, and then them computer games too. It’s enough to make your head spin faster than a whirligig in a tornado!
Now, I hear tell some smarty-pants folks figured out how to make all them gadgets play together. They call it… cross-play, I think? Sounds fancy, but it just means your grandson can play with his cousin Sally even if he’s got one of them fancy head thingies and she’s just got the regular ol’ game box. That’s mighty neighborly of ’em, I reckon.
So, I went and asked my grandson Billy – he’s the one with all the gizmos and gadgets – what kinda games you can play with your friends, even if you ain’t got the same stuff. He rattled off a whole bunch of names faster than a rooster pecks corn. Said somethin’ ’bout 20 multiplayer VR games bein’ able to do this cross-play thing. Twenty! That’s more kids than I got grandkids!
- He mentioned somethin’ called “Cities VR“. Sounds like you get to build a whole town, just like them Lego blocks he used to play with, but now you’re right there in it! Imagine that, walkin’ around your own little city. Probably gotta keep them pesky pigeons off the statue, just like in real life.
- Then there’s this “Serious Sam” somethin’-or-other. Billy says it’s about shootin’ monsters and such. Now, I ain’t one for violence, but he says you can even play with folks who ain’t got them goggles on. Just sittin’ there with their regular controllers, shootin’ alongside ya. Sounds kinda fun, I gotta admit.
He kept goin’ on and on ’bout how you can play with folks on Oculus, or Steam, or whatever them things are. Said it don’t matter what kinda contraption you got, you can still play together. That’s right neighborly, I tell ya. Reminds me of a barn raisin’, everybody comin’ together to get somethin’ done, even if they brought different hammers and saws.
Billy even showed me this one game, “DAVIGO” he called it. Said it’s like a battle, one person with the goggles and another on the computer. They go at it, slingin’ stuff and tryin’ to outsmart each other. Sounds like a good way to let off some steam, though I reckon I’d stick to yellin’ at the chickens when I get riled up.

And get this, he says you can actually talk to folks in these games! Like, you put on them goggles and you’re suddenly yappin’ with someone from halfway across the country. It’s like havin’ a party line, but instead of just hearin’ voices, you can see ’em too. Well, not really see ’em, see their… avatars, he called ’em. Little cartoon people, I guess.
Now, I ain’t sure if all this is necessary. Back in my day, we just went outside and played tag or hide-and-seek. But these kids nowadays, they like their fancy gadgets. And I guess if it gets ’em talkin’ to each other and havin’ fun, it can’t be all bad. Long as they don’t forget to come up for supper, that is.
So, if you’re lookin’ to play some of them VR games with your friends, even if they don’t have the same stuff as you, there’s plenty of options out there. Just ask your grandkids, they’ll know all about it. And who knows, maybe you’ll even give it a try yourself. Just be careful you don’t trip over the cat with them goggles on!
Multiplayer games are a lot of fun, Billy says. It lets him play and chat with friends all over the world. Now that they can play together even if they don’t have the same game systems, well it’s just opened up a whole new world for him.
He tells me it’s more fun than playing by yourself. I guess that makes sense. Even just sittin’ on the porch swing is better with company.
So yeah, if you’re into these here computer games, it sounds like crossplay is the way to go. More folks to play with, more fun to be had. Just remember to take them goggles off every now and then and get some fresh air. And don’t forget to call your grandma!
