best strategy games for iphone

Well, let me tell ya, finding some good games on that iPhone, it ain’t always easy. Them youngsters, they always talkin’ ’bout this and that, but what’s a good game for someone like me, huh? I like somethin’ that makes ya think, ya know? Not just tappin’ the screen like a chicken peckin’ corn.

So, I heard tell there’s these things called “strategy games.” Sounds fancy, but from what I gather, it just means ya gotta use yer brain a little. And that’s alright by me. So, I went lookin’ around, askin’ the grandkids, and here’s what I found out about some good strategy games for that iPhone thingy.

First off, they got this Last War: Survival. Sounds tough, right? Like ya gotta fight and scrap to stay alive. That’s my kinda game. Probably gotta build stuff, find food, maybe fight off them… uh… zombies, or whatever they got in them games nowadays. Kids tell me it’s all about makin’ plans and outsmartin’ yer enemies. Sounds like hard work, but the kind of hard work that’s fun, ya know?

Then there’s somethin’ called Balatro. Now, I ain’t quite sure what that one’s about, but the grandkids say it’s got cards. I like cards! Reminds me of playin’ Gin Rummy with the girls back in the day. But this Balatro, it ain’t just any card game, I guess. It’s got that “strategy” thing goin’ on. So, maybe ya gotta plan yer cards right, trick yer opponents… sounds like fun to me!

• And then there’s a whole bunch of ’em, like Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. Big fancy name, that one. I bet there’s knights and dragons and all sorts of magical stuff. Probably gotta build an army and fight some bad guys. Always liked a good story, even if it’s just on that little screen.
• And get this, they even got that PUBG MOBILE game. Heard it on the TV, that one. Sounds like a big deal. Everyone’s jumpin’ outta airplanes and shootin’ at each other. Not sure if I’m up for all that shootin’, but I guess ya gotta have a plan to win, so there’s that strategy again.

Now, the grandkids were tellin’ me about some other games, too. Ones with big empires and buildin’ cities. Like Crusader Kings III and Civilization VI. Sounded a bit complicated for an old gal like me, but I reckon if ya put yer mind to it, ya can figure anythin’ out. Buildin’ a whole dang kingdom? That’s somethin’ special, ain’t it? Gotta keep yer people happy, protect ’em from the other kingdoms… lots to think about.

And then, for somethin’ a little different, they mentioned XCOM 2. Aliens! Fightin’ off aliens! Now that sounds like a hoot. Gotta train yer soldiers, plan yer attacks, and make sure them aliens don’t take over the world. Heard it’s tough, but that just makes it more interestin’, right?

Oh, and for somethin’ free, they got all sorts! Like Clash Royale, where ya build a little army and fight other players. Or Pokemon GO, where ya walk around catchin’ them little critters. That one gets ya movin’, which is good for an old lady like me. Gotta keep these bones movin’!

There’s even games like Tropico and ROME: Total War. Big, important sounding names. I guess you get to be in charge of a whole city, or even an empire! That’s a lot of responsibility, even if it is just a game. But it sure does sound like fun, makin’ all the decisions and watching your people thrive. Or maybe not, if you ain’t too good at it!

So, yeah, there’s a whole bunch of these strategy games out there on that iPhone. Somethin’ for everyone, I reckon. Whether ya wanna fight aliens, build a kingdom, or just play some cards, there’s a game that’ll make ya think. And that’s a good thing, keepin’ the ol’ brain sharp, ya know? So, go on, give one a try. Ya might just surprise yerself.

Now, where did I put my glasses? Can’t see a darn thing without ’em…
