2 year target squaretrade video game hardware protection plan
Alright, so you’re talkin’ ’bout that SquareTrade thing, the one for your video game stuff, right? For like, two years? Okay, okay, I get it. It’s like insurance, but for your games and gizmos. I ain’t no expert, but I’ve heard folks talkin’ ’bout it.
Now, from what I gather, this here plan, it’s supposed to keep your stuff safe if it breaks down. You know, like if the buttons stop workin’ or the battery goes dead and you can’t just swap it out. Or if that little hole where you plug in your headphones ain’t workin’ no more. That kinda stuff.
And get this, some of them plans, they even cover you if you’re clumsy! Like if you drop your game thingy or spill your drink on it. Lord knows I’ve done that a time or two with my coffee! But you gotta make sure you get the right plan, the one that says it covers accidents. Don’t go buyin’ the wrong one and then complainin’ when they don’t fix your mess.
- First thing, you buy this plan when you buy your game stuff, see?
- Then, you gotta go to some website, SquareTrade’s website, and tell ’em what you bought and that you got the plan. It’s like registerin’ your new cow, I guess, so they know it’s yours.
Then, if somethin’ does go wrong, well, that’s when you use the plan. You can take your broken stuff to some place, a center they call it, and they’ll fix it up for ya. Sounds easy enough, I reckon.
Now, they say you gotta buy this plan pretty quick. Like, within 30 days of gettin’ your game. So don’t go waitin’ around forever. You can buy it at that Target store, the one with all the red stuff. Or you can get it online, on their website. Or you can call ’em up on the phone, if you’re like me and prefer talkin’ to a real person.

I heard tell they cover all sorts of prices, too. Like, if your game cost a little bit, they got a plan for that. And if you spent a whole bunch of money, they got a plan for that, too. They got plans for like, $150 to $175, $300 to $350, even $350 to $400. Somethin’ for everyone, I guess.
But listen here, this here plan, it don’t cover everything. If you go smashin’ your game on purpose, they ain’t gonna fix it. And if you lose it, well, that’s your own fault, ain’t it? They ain’t gonna give you a new one just ’cause you can’t keep track of your stuff.
And they say it covers “mechanical and electrical failures” durin’ “normal use.” Now, what’s “normal use,” you ask? Well, I reckon that means you ain’t usin’ your game to hammer nails or nothin’ like that. Just playin’ it like you’re supposed to.
It’s like this, you buy a tractor, right? You expect it to plow the fields, not to fly to the moon. Same thing with your games. Use ’em right, and they should be fine. But if somethin’ does go wrong, and it ain’t your fault, well, that’s what this SquareTrade thing is for.
So, is it worth it? Well, that’s for you to decide. If you’re the type who breaks things easy, or if you just want some peace of mind, then maybe it is. But if you’re careful with your stuff, and you don’t mind takin’ a chance, then maybe you don’t need it. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with.
Just remember to read the fine print, like they always say. Make sure you understand what you’re buyin’ and what it covers. Don’t just take my word for it, or anyone else’s for that matter. Do your own research and make sure it’s the right thing for you. And that’s all I gotta say ’bout that.
