croc video game reviews
Well, let me tell you about this Croc video game, hon. It’s a game that came out a long time ago, back in 1997, and they’ve been talkin’ about remasterin’ it now, so it’s like a new thing all over again! The game’s called Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, and it’s about this little crocodile fella named Croc. He’s got to go all over the place, runnin’ and jumpin’, to save these little creatures called the Gobbos. Real simple stuff, but a lot of fun, I reckon. There’s about 45 levels where you get to do all this jumpin’ and ridin’ around, and Croc’s got some special moves too that help him out along the way.
The graphics? Well, they ain’t no big fancy high-definition stuff, but it still looks real nice, with bright colors and all that. The game’s got this low-poly look, kinda simple but it’s got its charm, just like them old cartoons we used to watch. You’d be surprised how good it still looks today, even though it’s a bit old-fashioned, I’d say. It could easily pass for one of them indie games folks play these days, you know, with that simple but sweet style. And the music? Oh lord, it’s cheerful and catchy, makes you wanna tap your feet! Just a real happy sound that keeps you goin’ when you’re playin’ the game.
Now, I ain’t one for all them big technical words, but let me tell ya, the game ain’t too hard. Sure, there’s some baddies you gotta deal with, but they ain’t all that many. It’s a bit like those old-fashioned games where you just go through the levels, dodgin’ and jumpin’, and makin’ sure you get to the end safe. Now, the villains in the game, the main bad guy’s this fella named Baron Dante, and he’s crookin’ up all kinds of trouble for Croc and the Gobbos. But Croc ain’t no slouch, he’s got a lot of tricks up his sleeve to deal with all that nastiness.
One thing I gotta tell ya is the sound. It’s real good, especially the music. The tunes in this game could stand on their own, like some of them old songs you’d hear at the fair. But I gotta say, Croc’s voice, well, it can get a little bit on your nerves after a while. He’s always sayin’ stuff like “Let’s go!” and “Yippee!” and, well, it can get a little grating on the ears, but hey, that’s just part of the game, ain’t it?
And don’t go thinkin’ this is just some little game for the kids. It’s got its own charm for folks of all ages. If you got the newer consoles, you’re in luck ‘cause they’re remasterin’ it for all them new-fangled machines like the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Yep, even your PC can play it, but only on that GOG thing, not on Steam, if you care about all that. They say it’s comin’ out in 2024, so if you ain’t played it before, or if you’re just lookin’ to try somethin’ familiar again, this might be just the thing for ya.

So, there you have it. Croc: Legend of the Gobbos is one of them old-school games that still holds up real well, even if it’s a little bit dated. It’s got bright colors, fun gameplay, a cheerful soundtrack, and just the right amount of challenge to keep you entertained. Ain’t nothin’ too fancy, but it gets the job done and leaves you with a smile on your face.
